Introduction
Hello Everyone!
Who: My name is Jordan Balhorn
What: I teach 8th grade social studies, this is my 2nd year teaching!
How: I have always really enjoyed using tech in the classroom, students love it and it makes learning so much more exciting! Also- holy crap, who knew my first year of teaching would be end up in a whirlwind of online teaching and total reliance on technology!
Why: I really love learning, and technology is so vital to teaching, now more than ever! I think it can provide a great environment for students and make learning accessible to all. I want to continue fine tuning my abilities and try to be the best educator possible.
Hi Jordan! So good to have you HERE! HOLY CRAP, WASHINGTON?! What a move! Excited to hear you're in your second year teaching! Where does time go?! Glad you had your Level 1 skills through this crazy time. I'm sure your students appreciated it, too! Excited for you to learn more and get your Level 2 badge through this experience! Have fun!

ReplyDeleteJennifer, Jordan was one of my FABULOUS EDT 370 students from Grand Valley State University a while back! She got her Level 1 certification while in 370, and has since graduated and gotten her full time teaching job in WASHINGTON. Every cohort I reach out to all my former students to see if they'd like to take the next step in their certification, since GVSU covers the cost of alumni (in addition to all their charter educators), and Jordan dove in! I'm so proud of her for taking the initiative to keep learning!
